Luckily he doesn't know the password :)). Tomato salad with onions is my favorite and as I do it quite often, I thought of posting the recipe. It is recommended to do it in the summer season with fresh tomatoes from the garden.

  • 3 tomatoes
  • 1 onion
  • 1 pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • salt

Eat bell peppers with onions, garlic and sausages & # 8211 quick recipe. Italian (peperonata) or Hungarian (lecsó) style pepper stew. How to eat bell peppers or simple kapia or with sausages and smoked meat?

In Transylvania this dish of bell peppers is often made, especially during the summer. A fine and flavored stew with lots of onions and garlic. It can be a kind of post (vegan), o gasket flour in addition to meatballs or schnitzels but also an extremely tasty main course.

Eating bell peppers can be simple or smoked (sausages, bacon, ribs, bacon). The Italians have Peperoni which is prepared only with onion, garlic and thick tomato juice (or passata) while the Hungarians make lesson with smoked, onion, garlic and paprika. In September I was invited to Parma together with my dear friend and colleague food blogger Laura Laurențiu.

Mutti wanted to show us how to prepare their products starting with picking tomatoes from the field and ending with the manufacture of the famous canned pasta, juice, pulp or tomato sauces.

Everything happens quickly, in a maximum of 24 hours after harvesting and preservatives have no place in these products.

The tomatoes are collected by Mutti from local producers in the Parma area (Italy) and are harvested in high season. Through classic preservation (with just a little salt and without any chemical additives) Mutti offers us both tomato juice and passata, canned whole tomatoes and many other goodies. On the label of the can of finely chopped tomatoes Mutti reads as follows: 99.8% tomatoes, salt. That's all it contains! No preservatives, dyes or thickeners.

At the Mutti factory we had the chance to cook in their kitchen with Chef Carlo Casoni, who develops recipes with Mutti products. Along with us were the representatives of Mutti Romania as well as some professional Romanian chefs.

Chef Carlo Casoni presented us some local recipes and invited each of us to cook something inspired by Mutti products. I chose to adapt a recipe I grew up with at home: lecso & # 8211 bell pepper food.

I knew that the Italians also have their version of peperonata and I wanted to show them how it is done here. I used smoked bacon (speck) and Italian sausages (salsiccia), colored bell peppers and finely chopped canned tomatoes. Everything is done very quickly and in 30 minutes you have a hot and tasty food!

If you do not have access to Mutti cans then you can use one homemade tomato puree (thick tomato juice) & # 8211 the recipe here.

I give you the quantities for 4 servings of bell peppers with onions, garlic and sausages.


A morning that often starts with a delicious omelet is a delight for me. And it only takes 10 minutes to prepare an original omelette recipe with bacon and bell pepper.


  • 2 eggs
  • 2 slices of bacon
  • Gras bell peppers
  • 2 green onion threads
  • 1 triangle melted cheese
  • salt and pepper

Cut the bacon into small strands and brown them a little in a pan with a tablespoon of olive oil, add the diced bell peppers and the white part of the chopped green onion, also quite small.

Separately beat the two eggs with a fork, add the diced melted cheese and season.

In another well-heated pan, I turn the eggs over and carefully pick them up from the outside to the inside, so that I can collect the uncooked egg in the middle, which helps me to get a very thick and quite fluffy omelet.

I don't like it to be too well done, so I hurry to sprinkle the fried bacon with onion and bell pepper on top, a few pieces of the green part of the onion kept especially, then I roll it carefully like a pancake.

Along with a green salad with tomatoes, bell peppers and plenty of cucumbers, my omelet was the star of a hearty breakfast today.

Veal dish with peppers and onions

It was raining outside, Adrian is sleeping, my husband is sleeping on TV thinking about what matches I am today, and instead of resting, I am cooking and in the meantime I am posting another recipe :).

I found veal at the store and because now is the pepper season I thought of making a stew with peppers and onions, a little spicy as we like. It goes best with polenta but if you make a mashed potato or rice no one is upset :)

  • 1 kg of veal pulp
  • 2 large peppers or donuts
  • 2 onions
  • 300ml mashed tomatoes
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon corn
  • 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon hot pepper
  • salt
  • a little bit of oil

Cut the meat into cubes and fry over high heat in a little oil.

Add diced peppers, finely chopped onion and mix well. Leave for a few minutes and then add the paprika, mix well and about 300ml of water.

We also put the bay leaf, let it boil then let it simmer, covered for an hour.

Add the mashed tomatoes, marjoram and chopped hot pepper (optional). Let it simmer on low heat for about 30 minutes until the meat is cooked and the sauce decreases and then season with salt, fresh pepper, hot pepper.

Serve hot with polenta and pickles.

It is advisable to use a pan with thick walls (not necessarily the kettle as I used)

The amount of water varies depending on the meat. If the meat boils harder, you need to add more water.

If you want at the end you can add chopped green garlic, it gives it a wonderful taste.

Potato omelette

Peel the potatoes, wash well and cut into small pieces. The same thing is done with onions. Put a pan on the fire with oil until one third of the capacity of the pan is filled. When the oil has warmed up, put the potatoes and onions, leaving them on the right heat so that they are neither too boiled nor too crispy and they are salted.

Meanwhile, beat the 4 eggs with a little salt and a tablespoon of milk. After the potatoes are done, drain the oil well and pour over the eggs, mixing well. Allow 5 minutes to incorporate the egg well into the potato. Put a little oil in the same pan and when it has warmed up, pour this composition. When the omelette has browned underneath, turn it with a lid or a plate on the other side and leave it until this part is done, but it should not be left long so that it does not come out too dry. When it is ready, it is placed on the plate and can be eaten cold and hot.

Put the oil in a frying pan and heat the chopped onion on low heat until it softens and becomes transparent. It should not burn and change color, we may add a tablespoon. Two tablespoons of water.

Cover with a lid and bake the omelette until it is completely cooked. When it has set, turn it over on the other side with a plate as big as a pan.

Pasta with peppers and onions

The first recipe on the blog this year will be one prepared for the winter holidays. Our child received a visit from her colleague and best friend. Two kids at the table, so we're cooking pasta. What the little ones usually want to eat, if not pizza, then pasta.

And when you have two children at the table and one wants pasta with tomato sauce and another with cheese, you make them pasta with vegetables, right? Pasta with peppers and red onions. The outcome? Two super satisfied children who asked me to put them on the plate and portion number two. Mother? And she's happy, the meal ended successfully, without & # 8220I don't want that & # 8221, & # 8220I don't eat & # 8221, & # 8220I don't like it & # 8230 & # 8221 or whatever.

It is true that Easter convinces the little ones quite quickly. But what do you do if they also have vegetables? A little harder to convince. I took a book with recipes and showed them some appetizing pictures, I told them about what the dish will look like, what it will contain, what the taste is and how we will place it on the plate. I'm not saying they shouldn't be tasty, but how can you go wrong with lightly pan-fried vegetables.

What vegetables did I choose this time: finely chopped red onions, colorful peppers (red, green and yellow) and olives. I put them in very little oil and left them on the fire for 1-2 minutes, until they soften easily. I seasoned the vegetables with salt, pepper, and lemon juice to taste, and at the end I added the cooked pasta and a little of the water in which they boiled. I mixed them lightly and took them off the heat.

I placed the pasta nicely on the plates, because the food must look good to complete the taste and I invited the girls to the table. & # 8220What looks good, can we eat? & # 8221, & # 8220I'm very good & # 8221, and all this from two children who didn't really want to change their favorite pasta with the new ones I proposed.
