Bottle was purchased by Caviar during a fundraiser benefitting the Humane Society of Southeast Texas

The hefty price tag comes from Jay Jerrier’s belief that the pizza is so good, it doesn’t need anything else.

The $1,000 “side of delicious ranch dressing” at Deep Ellum’s Cane Rosso in Dallas has finally been sold, after being kept in a mounted wooden case for nearly two years.

It was purchased by food delivery startup Caviar as part of a fundraiser hosted by the restaurant benefitting the Humane Society of Southeast Texas, where 74 dogs were killed in a fire.

According to Fox News, the $1,000 price tag on the bottle of Hidden Valley Ranch dressing came from owner Jay Jerrier’s strong belief that his VPN-certified pizzas “be eaten just as the chefs intended.”

In a Facebook post, the restaurant writes, “Some men just wanna watch the world burn...WE JUST SOLD OUR FIRST BOTTLE OF RANCH DRESSING!! Big ups to the boys at Caviar for dropping a cool $1,000 to help the Humane Society of Southeast Texas. Josh, you disgust me, but you're alllllriiight.”

The restaurant raised a total of $17,469 and rounded up the total donation to $20,000.
